Beck grew up in Lansing, MI and started dancing street style hip hop as a child. She moved into a mixed genre dance program with an emphasis in Contemporary through the local middle and high school. Collaborating with Happendance and the Community college, she gained experience choreographing small and large group pieces. She continued to dance and choreograph in college and eventually landed at UW where she obtained a BA with a Dance Minor. She then pursued a Masters in Cultural Studies with an emphasis on embodied movement and alternative pedagogies. While attending UW She danced for a season with 3rd Shift Dance in Seattle. Upon moving to Whidbey Island she founded Meander Dance Collective where she currently serves as Artistic Director.
